This show promises to be interesting! We'll have again as our guest, Rebecca Lee, who knows and understands good health. There is so much confusion on the topic, that the clarity Rebecca brings is quite welcome. First some news. New technology offers
homeowners faster, cheaper hot water Habitat for Humanity has discovered the ACT D'Mand Kontrols System. It is a system that saves water, heating energy and time. There is a lot more they are doing to make homes more efficient. Here is a link. ~~ Doctors Kill 1,000,000 People Each
Year In the U.S. Alone Something is wrong when regulatory agencies
pretend that vitamins are dangerous, yet ignore published statistics showing
that government-sanctioned medicine is the real hazard. Until now, Life Extension could cite only
isolated statistics to make its case about the dangers of conventional
medicine. No one had ever analyzed and combined ALL of the published literature
dealing with injuries and deaths caused by government-protected medicine. That
has now changed. The most stunning statistic, however, is that the
total number of deaths caused by conventional medicine is an astounding 783,936
per year. It is now evident that the American medical system is the leading
cause of death and injury in the US.Here is the study. Rebecca Lee will help us from becoming unhappy statistics! Rebecca gives her credentials, which are impressive. There IS a lot to know. Her studies in this date far back and her education is ongoing. Nutrition is part of doing good body work. Body work is sort of like detective work, figuring out how it is that one doesn't feel well. The mind-body connection is brought up. It turns out that the hardest thing to change in our lives is food. It's almost like religion. Yet, we need the nutrition that good food provides. There are many reasons we resist food changes. Rebecca has created a "smoothie" that provides what's needed. She has a website, Creative and Vital Healinghere. After the break we get into collard greens. Yay! She has a class coming up on June 27th which will help with understanding the much maligned collard greens and other things. She gives some examples of how to "do" food so it really works for you. Collard greens are good for you but has no pizzazz, unlike soft drinks. She tells us what food producers spent in advertising their stuff. Collard greens failed to spend anything, so we don't believe it. We discuss the difference between consumer and citizen. Clearly money talks, as the last three presidents have not been able to create better nutrition guidance. Mark chimes in by mentioning the food prejudices we carry around. We discuss serving size and calorie counting. Rebecca paints up a picture.... fake food vs real food. We really need to become un-sold on the diet we've been sold on. We're up against big money in suggesting this. Rebecca suggests simply having two vegetable portions with each meal. Catchup and french fries don't count! We discuss pre-biotics and pro-biotics. We live fast paced. Fast food fits in with this life style quite well. Slow foods feel strange and out of kilter. Simply noticing this life style is hard and changing it is likely harder. Next we discuss cholesterol and lecithin, which is a fat emulsifier. Our bodies make lecithin, but only when we have the proper nutrition. Without it, the fat isn't broken down and gets stuck in our arteries. This is not good! Simply, have lecithin and you'll avoid heart attack and stroke. There is a lot more to be said, but our time is out. Don't be surprised if we have Rebecca back. Next week we'll be at the Monterey Wine Festival, looking for sustainability. Larry's tidbit is the Monterey County tax deed sale. It can be a great way to find property. Look at bid4assets here. #food
